''2face owes me money, and he won't pay back'' - Black Face cries out

Ex member of the defunct music trio Plantashun Boiz , Blackface, has opened another can of worms with his former group mate 2face Idibia over his hit song African Queen, Which he still insists he wrote.
Blackface is yearning for some part of revenue from the song even though 2face has been taking credit for the song
But why he waited 10 plus years to voice out leaves many pundits asking the genuity of his claims, Shortly after the Plantashun Boiz broke up, the relationship between the duo was still intact, and it was believed that only Face had a strained relationship with the other members of the group.
The strain in the relationship between Blackface and 2Face became obvious during the April 2013 wedding of the latter in Dubai, which the former didn’t attend. When asked by a follower on Twitter why he was not at 2Face’s wedding in Dubai, which was attended by Face, Blackface simply replied that he doesn’t go to where he is not invited.
Blackface’s response raised questions and confirmed to drum&celebs that the two erstwhile friends might not be on speaking terms. Speaking with Channels TV some days ago, Blackface stated that he was yet to receive any money from 2Face despite his incessant cry on the matter.
“I still haven’t (received any payment from 2Face) because they have to backdate it, they have to check the revenues of the music, what it has generated, what is due to the co-writer and all that, all those things are just still hanging, but I still have one or two things that I am doing to find out what the issue behind all these stuffs are,” the singer said.

Juliet ibrahim Blasts Nigerians Over OJB Jezreel’s Kidney Transplant Surgery Fundraising

Juliet Ibrahim Blasts Nigerians Over OJB Jezreel’s Kidney Transplant Surgery Fundraising

“I think it’s about time I speak up on this OJB topic that most of you ignorant people are using to harass and insult celebrities. First of all, every celebrity has his or her own responsibilities n family to take care of, if a colleague is ill and needs help we do contribute in our own way to help out whichever way we can.

I don’t see why u people can’t help out as well? Who said our 1000 naira can’t amount to something that can raise the sum needed for OJB’s transplant? For you people tagging me in your tweets, im sure you know I run a kidney disease foundation, hence I know the exact cost for a kidney transplant india.I have been quiet cus. I asked the people in charge of OJB broadcast to contact my foundation because I know a kidney transplant will not cost more than 50k usd. Why are they requesting for 100k when so many cheaper deals with hospitals out there in India even in Ghana can be worked out to save OJB? To get the necessary help, those in charge of OJB fund-raising need to reach out to the right people and stop harassing. Celebrities for funds ”
Above is what actress Juliet Ibrahim shared on her Instagram page yesterday.

She is alleging that OJB Jezreel is lying for saying he needs 16 million for Kidney transplant surgery….The actress said it costs half of that to get a Kidney transplant in India.

Is this a good move to get OJB Jezreel the help he desperately needs?

Juliet Ibrahim forgot that OJB has a lot of unsettled medical bills since his kidney failed few months ago. (It costs a lot to get medical help in Nigeria)

Hmmmmm.. how insensitive.

Some folk needs to learn how to talk in certain situation.

Yes she is trying to tell us she runs a Kidney disease foundation but this seems untimely.

By the way, did she donate a dime?

I’m most comfortable when I’m Nude – Omotola Jalade Ekeinde

That’s Omotola on the latest City People Fashion & Lifestyle cover and she says she is most comfortable when she is nude!

I really really loved Iyanya – Yvonne Nelson finally breaks the silence on her romance & break up with Iyanya

After months of keeping mum on her alleged relationship with Iyanya Mbuk, Ghanian actress and model, Yvonne Nelson in a recent interview with Drum 'N' Celebs, has finally cleared the air. The actress admits that she really really loved singer Iyanya, however they had to part ways for certain reasons.

See excerpts below:

Sometime last year, you were quite emotional on Twitter when you supposedly broke up with a Nigerian music star. That incident has been shrouded with lots of cover-ups. Could you tell me what really happened?
I think it’s time my fans get to know the whole truth so I’m going to let it all out. I dated one person here, he’s in the industry. There were too many lies in the relationship. I found out a whole lot of things and I just felt like he took advantage of me.

Why did you go on Twitter to express your emotions?
I’m human, I’m not like a robot or anything. I just wanted the whole world to know what I was going through and I just wanted them to know that I was done with the relationship.

Did you actually break up with him on Twitter?
I didn’t break up on Twitter. I just tweeted how I was feeling that very moment.

I had an interview with Iyanya shortly after that Twitter rant and his words were “She didn’t mention my name so I don’t know anything about it. I’ve never told anyone that I was dating anybody.” Aren’t we talking about the same person here?
He would say that because he was wrong. His team is also trying to protect his fan base and I don’t blame him for denying anything. It’s him and his career, that’s OK.

How long did the two of you date and how would you describe the relationship?
We dated for 7 to 8 months. We had something and I thought it was special, like he was a wonderful guy but it was all lies. He had other girls and other things he was doing. Aside the actress that was in the picture, there were a lot more. That is how bad it is. We were in a relationship and he lied throughout and he was able to do all those things because I wasn’t living in Nigeria. But aside from the distance, I feel if you’re a genuine person and you’re loyal, you would still not do that.

Is this actress you’re talking about actually Tonto Dikeh?
I feel it’s disrespectful to start mentioning other people’s names. I am talking about Iyanya because we had a thing, I don’t want to bring in a third person. There were a lot of names that people know. There was a girl from South Africa, I’m not going to mention names but she was part of Big Brother Africa last year.
Most people only got to know that you and Iyanya were dating after you broke up. Were you deliberately being secretive about it?
I also don’t believe in putting my relationships in the faces of people. We both had our careers and were trying to protect our fan base and that’s cool. But if you go through my Instagram page, you’d see a couple of pictures of us together. I wasn’t shy about anything but he could not say he’s dating Yvonne Nelson because he had different people he was seeing so it was very hard for him to bring it out.

What did the experience teach you?
There are some things that you don’t get to learn in school; people can’t advice you, you won’t even listen. You just have to experience it to learn. I have no regrets that I went through it, it would have happened anyway. We are all human beings. We fall in love once in a while but if it doesn’t work out, that’s OK.

Have you moved on since then?
I have! It happened last year but I’ve moved on. I’ve been working hard, been producing movies. I still listen to his music, I love his album. I love the Track 1 with MI and I love, ‘I Got It’. He is a very talented guy, I always have goose bumps on my body when he sings.

Aside from the music, what else was the attraction?
You can’t really explain when you love somebody. It’s everything. It was just something that I felt and I can’t explain. It was love, I really really loved him and he knows that.

How do you feel about him now and what message would you like to pass on to him if you had the chance?
Iyanya is such an amazing person but I just feel he needs to be more honest and be a man of his words. It’s not good if he takes advantage of women. My Mum always says any man who takes advantage of women won’t end up well. It’s Karma, it’s going to come back to you. He should treat women fairly and he should be an honest person. It’s been a while though, I haven’t seen him. He is doing amazing things in his career and I wish him luck.

Since then, there have been other reports and speculations of you in new relationships, the latest one being Dammy Krane. How true is this?
Honestly, I don’t know where these stories come from. If I take a picture with somebody or I do a Keek with the person, the next minute I’m dating the person. Come on, it’s not fair! I am very single, as a matter of fact, I have trust issues. I don’t trust men easily and I am not psychologically ready for any relationship now. The last one was so bad that I just want to chill.
You shared a cover on Complete Fashion magazine shortly after the break up where both of you spoke about love. Was this just a coincidence?
I did my shoot in Ghana and that was before I met Iyanya but my cover didn’t come out until the whole controversy thing. If you look at the pictures, I was a little bigger than this, slightly chubby.

That’s exactly what my next question is about. You’ve lost so much weight recently. Did you deliberately lose the weight?
Yeah I did. It’s because I wanted to do a bit of modeling as well. I had phone calls from London, I was in Pride Magazine in London, I was shooting with skinny models so I had to drop the weight. And also, I started living a very healthy life, I cut down a lot of things and I gym every day. It’s partly for my health and partly for other things I wanted to do. Also, I played the role of a model in House Of Gold so I had to lose some weight.

By African standards, you weren’t even considered fat.
Yes, but surprisingly I was a Size 10 – 12. My hip was 42 before but now it’s 39. It was just something I had to do for the movie role and photo shoot. I’m not sick.

LETTER TO DSTV ON BBA FROM AFRICA YOUTH by Alex Osagie (edited) I urge and plead with All Africa Youths, let’s ask DSTV to give Us a BBA where Africa Youths go and discuss, proffer solution and solve Africa’s problems not this morally loosed show where single parents who can’t keep their r/ship go into the house to show their fallen breast, drug addicts, porn stars , ill-mannered people mix up and get rewarded. Haba! Having sex in the public with somebody who is not your spouse? We can make this the last of that valueless program. Initially, it was okay but recently sexual immorality has finds it ugly head into the show. BBA sells immoral behaviour and attracts lots of fans who enjoy it. They even prefer open sex every day. There is no single thing I learn from the programme, except promoting sex and immorality. Its time we ignore it. How long does it take to imbibe a habit? 21 days and BBA runs 90days, subtly making people addicts to bad habits and destroying the values we hold dear that has built out families & homes. Say NO to TV shows without value, reality shows with rich immorality is a NO NO!. please leave your comments

Stella Damasus Impregnated By Another Woman’s Husband

What happens to a woman who usually denies her husband his right to her body when he needs her most? She will eventually be kicked out by the man! A source hinted that this is the fate of actress Doris Simeon whose husband is now “enjoying” actress Stella Damasus, in and out.

The latest gist however is that Stella Damasus is now pregnant for Doris’ husband…

Mr Daniel Ademinokan who left his wife for Stella due to “sex related issue” has been living in Gwarimpa, a popular estate in Abuja with Stella and her two children, and Daniel’s son, for sometime now.
However, the love birds dramatically traveled out of Nigeria weeks back and have remained there for very obvious reasons; Stella Damasus is said to be carrying Daniel’s baby and he doesn’t want his wife, Doris to cause any trouble for them hence the decision to “abscond”.

A source in the know disclosed that they are in the United State and, even there, Stella Damasus stays in doors most of the time to avoid running into Nigerians who know her history with her colleague’s husband, Daniel.

But who is to blame in this saga: Doris who was careless with her husband or Stella who took over

I Can’t Go To Iya Christopher To Sit Down And Eat Amala---Tuface

Some say he is the most successful contemporary music artiste in Nigeria today. Others say he is the best of his generation.

But, there is no doubt that Innocent Ujah Idibia, renowned as Tuface Idibia (and fondly called 2baba by some), one of the best music exports Nigeria has ever produced.

However, despite his phenomenal success and achieving superstardom, including a string of hits from his five albums to date – as well as the evergreen ‘African Queen’ from his debut solo album in 2004; Tuface, with over 16 years in the music industry, has remained humble and down-to-earth

Innocent Idibia popularly known as Tuface Idibia in an interview talks about his music, kids and plans for his education.

Is Tuface A Player?

If I were a player, they wouldn’t have caught me like that.

On His Role Has A Father

Tuface who has six kids from different women said its not being easy, sometimes his work entails him travelling a lot and as such does not see his kids as he wants to.

According to him he had a different plan of just having one wife and kids but since things turned out this way he has accepted, no shaking.

On His Children Following His Footsteps

Tuface said he won’t discourage any of his children if they decide to follow his footsteps musically. As a matter of fact he’ll make be a good adviser.

On His Plans To Go Back To School

He definitely still has plans to go back to school to study law but he’s not certain when.

On Why He Took So Long To Settle

I don’t really have an answer to that question, because I don’t know. I can’t explain why I don’t have an answer to that, but somehow, by the grace of God, we are still together.

On His Choice Of Name

He said it was a way of letting his fans know the real him different from the one they see in the public, TV, papers, radio.
Meaning Tuface is an artiste – the public figure, and Tuface, the actual me.

On His Fame

It takes away your privacy and freedom to do some kind of simple, basic things. Like I can’t go to Iya Christopher to sit down and eat amala, the way I dey do before.

On how much Tuface is worth today

I never gather, but I dey try.

Tuface attributed his journey so far to hardwork, his fans and of course the grace of God

You have met famous people globally, which one stands out most and why?

O boy! I will just go for Wyclef. The guy is just too much. He has the kind of spirit I like, simple, friendly, intelligent, talented, focused, playful, down to earth, serious. He’s just my kind of person.

Who’s your favorite Nigerian music act and among the upcoming ones, which do you feel can become the next Tuface or make it as big as you have done?

I’m not even going to answer that because I have so many friends and wouldn’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings by mentioning one person’s name and not mentioning another. But I have many favourites, I love their music and many of them have different attributes that I like.

Despite being a superstar, you must have had some most embarrassing moments?

Most embarrassing moments? The funny thing is, I can’t remember right now (General laughter). But I don’t like to put myself in any embarrassing situation.

If you weren’t singing, if you weren’t Tuface, what is it you would have become?

Maybe, I would have been a goal keeper for one football team. Although I didn’t play football very well while growing up, I dreamt about it

Fat Joe Sentenced To Federal Prison Following Tax Fraud

American rapper Fat Joe has been sentenced to 4 months in prison after he failed to file tax returns on income of over 3.3 million dollars.
The rapper, whose real name is Joseph Cartegena, was also handed a $15,000 fine.
The 42-year-old rapper faced the possibility of up to two years in prison after pleading guilty in December to two counts of failing to file with the Internal Revenue Service.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Cathy Waldor gave the Bronx-born rapper credit for paying $718,000 in back taxes prior to his sentencing and for his charitable work.
The court received more than 60 letters on his behalf, including one from Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, who cited Cartagena’s efforts to donate computers to local schools.
Cartagena apologized to his family and friends, saying he let them down. He said his 6-year-old daughter was being taunted in school by classmates who said her father was going to jail.
“There was a lot going on in the years that I didn’t file my taxes, but it was my responsibility,” he said. His hits include the 2004 song “Lean Back.”
His attorneys had asked for probation in light of the three-month prison sentence handed down to hip hop artist Lauryn Hill in May on similar tax charges.
Cartagena was originally charged with failure to file returns from 2007 to 2010 but under a plea agreement the charges were reduced to not filing returns for two years.
His income came from three companies, including Somerville, N.J.-based Terror Squad Production Inc and Miramar Music Touring, which he owned.

How Life Has Turned For Pastor Chris Okotie's Estranged Wife

This ravishingly beautiful lady, Stephanie Henshaw, seemed to have struck gold when she married Pastor Chris Okotie at an elaborate twin ceremonies a few years ago. So in love were the duo that many thought it was too real to be true. He showered her with attention and gifts.

This remained the state of things of their love until things turned ugly...

Following their controversial break up, Pastor Okotie not only retrieved the car gifts he bought for her when the going was good, he stripped her of all other privileges she used to enjoy as his wife, since then, life has not been easy for Stephanie as she now struggle to get the least of things, you just can't believe even if I mention them. Sadly, the mother of three is almost a shadow of her old self.

And according to a Punch report, Stephanie, who is said to reside with her sister in Lagos, was sighted in a "not-so-posh" part of town recently riding in a taxi.

I wish her husband can take her back and end her 'stress'. Is this possible?

Whats wrong with this picture.

I WANT THE RIGHT GUY, I AM SCARED OF GETTING HURT-KAREN IGHO CRIED OUT!

The 2011 winner of Big Brother Africa Amplified, Karen Igho may have fame and more money but within her, there is something she nurtures that goes beyond material things.

Karen, who is so bitter about her single status recently took to social media to display her deed thought about herself and se% and men.

She has be finding it difficult to attract the man of her dreams and it seems loneliness is eating her up. She has finally cried out to the guys. See Karen's bold message to the guys below:

"How long can you stay with out se%?

Let's be realistic here. Does it really matter who calls or text who first? Does it really matter if you had se% the first time you met? What will be, will be!

I just want the right guy and am scared of getting hurt because when I love, I love with all my body and soul. It's so difficult with fame to find a guy that will love you and trust you. Not all women in the industry are loose. Guys and girls that have more than one girlfriend\boyfriend, do you really love them all?

I can't double date. One guy is enough for me. I will die for true love and I will give my all for true love. You don't have to be cool to be my man and you don't have to be rich to rule my world. All I want is your extra time and your kiss. I want to go on a date, go to the movies.

God will make a way"

Readers, this is so deep! It’s obvious that all is not well with Karen with relationship.

Iyanya's Girlfriend, Emma Nyra, Revealed!

When these two loverbirds were first sighted together, they didn’t give any hint of their relationship until recently when it has been revealed. International singer, Emma Nyra and Iyanya first released pictures of themselves together last December, many wondered what was between the two, as the pictures (above) looked very suggestive and full of chemistry.

The exit of Tonto Diko and Yvonne Nelson has now paved way for Emman Nyra, an American based singer who shot into limelight with Iyanya’s “Your Waist” video. She also featured Iyanya on her new single “Everything I Do.”

I personally didn't think the pictures were really a big deal, because both of them are artists under Iyanya(and Ubi Franklin's) self owned record label Made Men Music.

However, the duo kicked off their US/Canadian tour last Friday 5th of April, and I can unequivocally tell you that Iyanya and Emma are in a 'Tunde and Wunmi Obe' situation, except of course they are not married.
Hotnaijagossip.com gathered that the two are a 'hot item' and very much in love. They were also not afraid to publicly flaunt their relationship.

I May Like S*xing, But.. But.., I Was Never A Str?pper- Karen Igho

In this interview, 27-year-old Karen Igho reveals how she managed to survive the many controversies that trailed her victory at the 2011 BBA, her relationship with eccentric VJ, Denrele and her plans for the future
What has changed about you since you won the show in 2011?
I am still Karen Igho, but a mature one.
A lot has changed. I am older and wiser now. You will not catch me doing certain things. I have seen life in a different way and I know a lot more now.

How does it feel being the reigning Nigerian with the Big Brother crown?
I feel very honoured and privileged that I still have the position as the last Nigerian winner of the show. However, I must add that to win the BBA is not a joke, whoever will, has to be a lot more entertaining than myself, Uti and Kevin Pam put together. I just think it is not time yet for a Nigerian. It’s just the right person needed.
What do you think was responsible for your victory?
I would say God. While I was preparing for the show, the last thing on my mind was how to win. I just wanted to have fun and learn as much as I could. I was lucky to understand that the best strategy for such games is to have no strategy to avoid unnecessary surprises.
What do you mean by unnecessary surprises?
Unnecessary surprises can be anything. You can wake up one day and realise you have been betrayed by a fellow housemate. We were young individuals locked in a room with cameras and constantly watched by millions of people. It was psychologically draining. We all had to fight for attention, respect and win games too. We needed to shout, be crazy or cause trouble to get all these.
What is your take on Nigeria’s performance at the last edition?
Let me first congratulate all of them for going there. I cannot blame any of them or say exactly what went wrong. Ola and Chris left on health grounds, which is a cogent reason. One’s health is a lot more important than money, but if they both had remained in that house, they would have won. Goldie too did her best. They are all cool people but I guess it was not time for a Nigerian.
Do you think Goldie was being true or was playing a game?
I cannot say anything about that because I am not Goldie. I don’t know if she was being real or fake. I can only speak for myself. I was real and I did my thing but we are different.
Do you still feel hurt about the stories written about you while in the house?
Not any more I have forgiven everybody involved. The things written about me were not only false and untrue but slanderous too. I was locked up in the house and could not defend myself. People believed these untrue stories, about me and it continued to spread but I thank God I won the show and I have been able to win the hearts.
Which of the stories got you most?
The one about me being a strípper was untrue. It still baffles me till date. I was locked up for 90 days with a sum of money at stake and as crazy as I was, I didn’t kiss or have sex with any guy and people could still write that I was a strípper.
Were you a strípper?
I was never a strípper. People don’t even know anything about me but are quick to believe the terrible things they heard. My mom is a very strong Christian and she built my spirituality. People who saw me like a wild card girl do not understand what it is being locked in a room with lots of alcohol and nothing to do.
It is impossible not to misbehave but once you are back into the normal world, things change. How many times have I being caught smoking in public?
What then were you doing while in the UK?
My uncle helped with my trip to the UK and I went there to study. I studied Business Administration in Southwark College during which I took a summer class in Theatre Arts.
All through my stay there, I survived in a legit way. I joined the UNICEF and other charity organisations, which had African countries in mind. I was also a sales girl for Karen Millen.
Which of the stories were true?
My having a rough childhood was true. My being a strípper wasn’t true. The breast story was true. I genuinely did the implant because I had breast lumps and two of my sisters have done the same (operations).
Tell us about your growing up
I am the first born of ten siblings. My family is a loving and caring one. They stood by me during the Big Brother days. My mother fought severally to defend me. I am from the Urhobo in Delta state, but I was born in Plateau state. I schooled in Jos and Warri.
My growing up was not easy. My parents were separated and I had to live with my grand mum. It was not easy at all but I thank God.
What did you do with the money?
I built a house for my mum, another for my grand mum and I invested the rest. I am still hustling to make more money.
What is happening to your clothing line?
Karenified is still there. I rushed the first collection to meet with my birthday last year and because I wanted to raise some money for an orphanage, I planned to visit. It was successful but I want it bigger, so now I am taking my time and getting to understand the creative side of me better because I want it to reflect in the designs.
How did acting come into the picture?
While I was in the UK, studying business administration, I took a summer course in acting and tried my hands on some Shakespearian works. That and many other experiences I gathered improved my confidence in acting and presenting which are some of the things I now do.
What is your relationship with Denrele?
God brought Denrele into my life in a funny way in 2008. I just came back for a holiday (from UK) and my cousins invited me to his birthday party. There we met and exchanged contacts and became friends. He has been instrumental to where I am today and I am very grateful.
How true is the story that you both are dating?
Somebody started the joke on twitter recently and it went viral. Denrele is my brother and he knows the kind of guys I like.
Can you marry Denrele?
I don’t know the future but Denrele and I cannot get married. We have become one family.
Why are you yet to be married?
No be man go come first? Let’s just say I am waiting for God’s time but I am still working on my career and build the brand.
What kind of man do you like?
I want a God fearing and down to earth man and there must be strong chemistry.
Which Nigerian male celebrity will you date?
I know quite a few and would not want to call names. Besides most of them are married. If I mention anybody, you people (press) will be on my neck and once you see me with the person, another story begins. Nigerian acts are all wonderful people.
How did you get the Naija FM job?
I got the Naija FM job through Collete Otusheso (MTV). She encouraged me and introduced me to my boss, Gbemi (Olateru Olagbegi), Deji Awokoya (Beat FM) and since then, its been fun for me. I love the Naija FM family.
How was your first day on air?
I was nervous. I almost peed in my pant. I was confused and didn’t know what to do, but thanks to Ifektive and my other colleagues, they made it very easy for me and now I am loving it.
What project are you working at the moment?
At the moment, I am working on a Rukky Sanda movie and I have also gotten an invitation to be a part of a soap opera that will be aired across Africa.
What is the update on your assault case with Simrnoff gig?
We agreed to settle out of court because at the end of the day, the deed has been done and the lesson learnt. I also hope that with this the government stands up and ensure that our force men are properly trained on how to relate with the citizens

You're A Liar And An Ingrate--Ice Prince Tells Brymo?

Few weeks ago, Brymo, who used to be an artiste under Chocolate City, reportedly granted an interview where he alleged his former label of breaching the contract he signed with them. Brymo's bombshell came just days after Choc City, as the label is also called, claimed that all is well between them and the artiste.

Someone that may have felt unhappy with the confession of Brymo is Ice Prince, who is an artiste with the same label. Recall that Brymo played a pivotal party in that Ice Prince's hit single, 'Oleku', which brought Ice Prince into limelight just few years ago.

Ice Prince took to twitter and tweeted a series of tweets which are believed to be directed to Brymo even though he didn't specifically mention the person he was referring to.

"Just read an article and so many things said wrong. God is watching," Ice Prince tweeted.

He further wrote, "dear artiste, your career is pretty much in your hand, do not blame any label or individual if you end up not being happy with how sh*t it goes.

"Most of the hustle to get your music where you want it to be is on you my brother!! Spend your time working and not criticizing other artiste

"If you're an artiste and you don't want label to make money off you. Then don't sign. Don't accept the car and flat. Do everything by yourself.

"For someone to want to put their hard earned money into your career even when he/she Spends more than they make is enough to say Thank You."

M.I Discovers New Rapper in Owerri

“It’s about the most unreal thing in the world. I don't know anybody here and I don't know any member of MI’s crew. stage, performing Nobody Test Me together. This is the stuff dreams are made of.’’ – X Busta, 400L student of Imo State University and upcoming rapper.

When 23 year old Golden Chinedu Okafor stepped into Hero Square Owerri for the annual Star Music Trek, he had only three things in mind. 1: To hang out with his buddies, 2: Have a couple of drinks on them. 3 Watch some of the greatest performers in Africa.

1 hour later Golden, a.k.a X Busta was performing on stage WITH one of the greatest artistes artistes in Africa MI.The proverbial opportunity of a lifetime.

Golden, encouraged by his friends, had the ‘golden’ opportunity to freestyle on stage just like many other upcomers who came to show their talent. But after witnessing his performance, Gbenga Adeyinka, the gregarious MC who isn’t easily impressed, quickly promised to personally introduce him to M.I when the prolific rapper eventually got on stage.

The 400 level student studying Estate Management at Imo State University who also happens to be the Director of Socials of his institution is an amazing bundle of talent, spitting lyrics viciously and free styling in a unique and appealing way which caught the attention of thousands of music fans at ‘The Trek’ as well as Chocolate City boss, MI.

M.I called Busta to join him on stage during his set; allowing the young rapper freestyle before the thousands of fans at Heroes Square.

The rapper without hesitation removed his jacket handing it over to the elated upcomer… perhaps passing over a mantle??

“Music is seriously what I want to do for a lifetime,” the young man says emphatically. “It’s what I’m passionate about and to have this boost so early on…it’s unbelievable,” he added.

Well there’s no doubt that MI’s evocative prayers for him on that stage will certainly prove to be an enormous boost as he proclaimed to X Busta with a bow “May God keep you, may God bless you. Everything I have achieved will be your beginning.”

Busta, apparently ,is yet to step off cloud nine “It’s about the most unreal thing in the world. I don't know anybody here and I don't know any member of MI’s crew. One minute, I’m in the crowd chillin’ with my friends and the next minute I’m right next to MI on stage, performing Nobody Test Me together. This is the stuff dreams are made of."

And M.I has promised to ‘‘stay in touch’’ with his new friend. Will he sign him to Chocolate City?

Kim & Kanye set a trap for their friends by distributing fake baby pics

Kanye and Kim set a trap for their friends to see which one would sell a picture of their new baby. According to TMZ, they received a photo purportedly of North West but when they checked with Kim's camp to see if it was the real baby pic, they discovered they had received one of several decoy photos distributed by the couple.

TMZ reports:

Someone has been trying to sell this baby pic for a lot of $$$$ -- allegedly the spawn of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. But sources connected with the couple tell TMZ, it's a fraud!

So here's what we're being told. Kim felt people in her world were going to hawk baby photos, so she wanted to catch the culprits quickly. We're told Kim hatched a plan and sent a half-dozen of her "friends" pictures of a baby she claimed was North West -- but we're told it was an impostor infant.

Sure enough ... someone came along and tried selling us this pic (above). Gotta say ... it looks like it could be Kim and Kanye's baby. It has the right ... well, you know ... but Kim would obviously pick a pic of an impostor baby that had the qualities of her own child.

Our K & K sources have seen the pic and claim it's not the real deal.

By the way ... we also got hold of another pic of a baby Kim sent to several other friends -- Bogus Baby #2. We're told she's waiting to see if someone tries to sell this one as well.

Tuface attributed his journey so far to hardwork, his fans and of course the grace of God.\

Chris Brown Slams Hit and Run Charges: I Will Not Stand For This Bullying

Oh Chris. This hasn’t been the best week for you has it? Chris Brown has been has been charged with 2 counts of hit-and-run (for leaving the scene without exchanging proper information) and driving without a valid license.

The L.A. City attorney made the filed the charges today and they are in connection with a minor accident last month where Chris rear-ended a Mercedes and allegedly refused to hand over his driver’s license and instead gave bogus insurance information before leaving the scene.

Chris slammed the reports saying that he never left the scene and even posted a photo of him exchanging info with the driver.

It’s not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous
I have a valid drivers license and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene.
She contacted the cops thinking of a payday from Chris Brown when I followed the proper procedures.
My lawyers will be contacting you. I will not stand for this bullying and yellow journalism!
My profile pic is the pic I took of the persons car after “the hit and run”. NO damage. Just a dirty car.once again, I gotta clear my name
I work my ass off to provide for my entire family. I’ve made mistakes in the past and have worked hard to be a better person.
19-24 years of age. I don’t have all the answers and you can’t show me a person that age who has it figured out.We live and grow.Let me live

If convicted Chris could face 6 months in jail for each offence and the City attorney plans to refer the case to the L.A. County D.A. for a possible probation violation in the Rihanna beating case.

Who Is The Best Drummer Or Keyboadist/pianist In Nigeria ?

The best keyboardist Nigeria has ever produced is? Let me paraphrase it to be... one of the very best keyboardist Nigeria has ever produced.. is late now (2003)... he is none other than the Aba Ezechine who lived in University of Nigeria, Nsukka (otherwise called U.N.N). I cannot begin to enumerate here all what he did on the piano, organ or keyboard... but the best I can tell you is that you can classify him as a PRODIGY and a GENIUS!

To give you an approximate idea how good this guy was... the first time I saw Aba play the piano ever was in 1990 when he was a 15 yrs old and till I last saw him in 1994, I never could follow his fingers with my eyes while he played... his fingers were always moving at a very blinding speed that you could liken it to a human being of this era trying to comprehend a Fourth World War while Third World War has not yet been fought! This guy, even at the age of 15 in 1990 was already a jazz machine strumming on the Korg M1 sequencer keyboard. I am a stone cold keyboardist and always find a fault with the best of Nigerian keyboardist, but Aba own case was different... he was the first, and maybe the last, pianist that made me shed 'a gallon of tears' (made me cry) while listening to his playing. I was sure I was standing in the presence of God that day and could not hold my emotions for the beauty of such kind of cadence and melodies being played!

When I became a very good keyboardist in 1994, (I worked hard due to trying to copy Aba; although I am sure that no man can copy this guy verbatim) I decided to give Aba three major tests: 1. whether my eyes can now follow his fingers while he is playing; 2. To understand more about his sense of hearing and tonality; and 3. How good was his left hand?

To put my doubt to rest once and for all for ever, Aba took me to the music department of UNN where there were grand pianos (insisting that the keyboard is a toy made of rubber and plastic, that any great keyboardist who failed to play very well on the grand piano cannot be labeled a 'pianist')... there and then, Aba played on the grand piano what I titled in my mind 'A NEVER ENDING JAZZ'. He just bang and bang on the piano for about 30 minutes non-stop with the most dazzling rhythm, syncopation, finger scaling works, and improvisations that I ever heard. And woefully for me, my eyes could not follow Aba's fingers and neither could I remember the tune afterward because of the complexities. After that day, I hated myself and became discouraged and disillusioned that I wouldn't touch the keyboard for almost a month.

Do you know why? Originally, I wasn't a keyboardist at all. But seeing a 15yr old dazzling on the piano, I decided to learn the keyboard and my pride was that I was an intelligent guy (I got A1 in Maths to say the least). So I became as good as I am today under 3 months (all i could play today and tomorrow was imbedded in that 3months of hard work)... after which I couldn't improve much further. Maybe I peaked too early! So at my peak stage of 1994, I estimated that for me to play the NEVER ENDING JAZZ that Aba had just played, it would take me 8hrs of rehearsal daily for 5years to meet up to that speed, accuracy, beauty, and precision. And after the 5yrs, Aba would have improved too, so I'd still never catch up with him. So that made me discouraged and disillusioned and I decided never to compete or discourage any keyboards that is coming up, because it will haunt me for the rest of my life that there is somebody that I can never meet up with!

At my request on the issue of the kind of chords Aba was holding, he slowed down and showed me for the first time in slow motion some of the chords he was holding with his right-hands only and that made me scared to the very last... Aba had large fingers and he was able to hold up to 7 to 8 notes chord often. When I asked him in amazement how he was able to hold up to 7 notes with only his right-hand, Aba simply increased the notes of the chord he was holding to about 9 to 10 and played them in progression. He showed me slowly that he could hold two notes with only one of his fingers if need be and that can amount to 8-10 notes with his five fingers. After that I dare not ask this guy anything again, because I realized full well that this guy was not ordinary and he was way ahead of his generations and it was only a matter of time the whole world would hear of him...

As for Aba's sense of tonality??!! A professor of music was playing a classical piece on the grand piano in his parlor, and my good friend (the professor's son) and Aba were outside the house listening to him. My good friend asked Aba to ascertain which key his father was playing that piece of music, without thinking Aba (who was also a stammerer) replied: "On key E...and if you doubt me, go and check him out". And to my good friend's surprise, when he went in, behold his father was playing on key E as Aba said. When I heard this story, I decided not to test Aba again on the issue of hearing and tonality because he had demonstrated over and over again on stage, unconsciously, how good he was on this... when someone is singing before he climbs the keyboard, he just go straight to the correct key without striking a single note to search for the key, and he never loses a beat or timing when a singer changes key suddenly in the middle of song to a strange key... he just go with you automatically and smoothly as though it was planned. But I still asked Aba casually how good he was on this hearing and tonality of a thing... and he told me that he knows by heart all the sound of the twelve keys and the sound of any chord you can play on any key!!! That means that if you are playing a minor sixth chord on key B and you are holding the first inversion of that chord on the fourth octave of a keyboard, and you blindfolded Aba, he would go straight to the fourth octave and hold that same chord and its inversion on key B without hesitation after you uncover his eyes. We keyboardist always dare not play a song in the presence of Aba, because he would hear it only once and play it verbatim and far more better. At the age of 15, Aba met a guy who was rehearsing a difficult piece of classical song in the music department in U.N.N (Aba was still in secondary school then), this guy claimed he had worked on it for about 21 days. Aba just told him casually that he wasn't playing it correctly and took over and played it marvelously and many times better that the original composer himself could have done, and walked away! There was also this jazz piece I spent many weeks working on and perfecting on key E flat... I played it before Aba only once and very fast. Aba told me to repeat it again, and I refused to do that...nevertheless Aba went ahead and played it accurately up to the 60% of it and stopped abruptly. What amazes me most was that he played it verbatim up to 60% and stopped abruptly, but on a different key! I played it on Key E flat, and he replayed it on Key F!

About Aba left hand??! My good friend had been boasting that since he was left handed (his father and Aba's father were music professors in UNN and contemporaries) he was better than Aba on his left finger. I thought otherwise... I warned him that it was of no use trying to match up with a prodigy... but my good friend would not listen to me and went ahead thrilling me with his left-hand. Me knowing full well that Aba is never shy of a fight, I went and informed Aba about it, so we now came to my good friend's house.

At the sight of Aba, my good friend heart failed him and he refused to challenge Aba ('cos Aba was hot tempered too)! But when Aba saw he wasn't ready to play, Aba nevertheless went into his parlor and mounted the grand piano there and began to play only with his left hand... to say the least, it was like a nightmare watching this guy on the piano... he did the very impossible... strumming, thumping, scaling, improvising, and at the same time holding chords with his left hand... all at blinding speed.... never slowing down but getting better and faster with each seconds. It seems as if a millisecond is enough time for a grand master pianist like Aba to play many many things.

The last and final test I gave Aba was on one of Ron Kenoly's song. Me and my good friend has worked for months on some of his songs, so that we believe that not even Aba can do better than us. But in the presence of Aba, all our courage has evaporated. My good friend who is also from a music family like Aba, wouldn't dare him. As for me, I had nothing to lose... they all know that I was learning from them (learning from my good friend as Aba couldn't teach you anything... he stammers a lot and he is not too friendly to people trying to learn from or copy him)... so I decided to play the Ron Kenoly's song in Aba's presence on a keyboard nearby, for it would have been a bad idea playing on a grand piano in the presence of Aba as I never could have mastered that device like him or my good friend... so I settled for the keyboard.

Aba took over and played the song himself... we were dumbfounded! It was nothing like we ever dream of or imagined... it was like there were 7musicians accompanying him to play. It was like, we were hearing so many instruments at once.. maybe a guitar, a piano, a drum, and trumpet and so. When Aba left the keyboard and went away. Me and my good friend rushed to look at the voice effect Aba selected and used in the keyboard... behold it was the jazz organ! We checked it over and over again (for we have noted that after Aba selected the voice, he did not change it till he left)... so it beat our imagination that only a jazz organ (no splitting or dual voice was used) could produce such array of sound under Aba's finger.

Let me stop here. The only keyboardist I have heard online that sounds and play as fast as Aba, is the all time greatest jazz pianist ever... the man that was reputed to revolutionized jazz with speed and improvisation, the all time great..ART TATUM himself. He lived from around 1920's to 1954 and he was somewhat blind! He stormed the whole world at the age of 24 in 1933 at a competition for pianist (on stride piano) in USA. He presented two songs 'Tea for Two' and 'Tiger Rag' that made him won the competition by storm!

You can google and watch it being played on You-tube... it will give you an approximate idea how fast Aba was and his method of playing. There is no song, whether the hardest classical piece, that takes Aba hearing it once or twice not to play it many many times better than the original composers!
Watch one very good keyboardist play the Art Tatum 'Tiger Rag' on You-tube here (of course more slower and less precise than the master himself)..

this good keyboardist of a guy said it took him 4yrs of practicing Art Tatum 'Tiger Rag' on-and-off to master it... yet he didn't play as good and as fast as Art Tatum himself! That was how Aba was to me and all the very good keyboardists in Nigeria in his time... it would take you about 4 to 5 yrs as I rightly surmised in my time, to work on only one piece of Aba's music 'A NEVER ENDING JAZZ'! So hear the master himself, Art

As an after thought, I decided to add this story: someone told me around 1994 that there was someone who could play the piano as good as Aba or even better. I was wondering how good that person could be, but the guy insisted that I should ask Aba himself! And who was the surprise Nigerian that can play as good as Aba or even better? It is none other than a guy simply identified as 'Kola'.

So my second greatest Keyboardist and perhaps the very best KEYBOARDIST Nigeria has produced, since Aba is late now, is Kola (even though I have never met or seen Kola myself). I learn he owned and managed a studio in Lagos (called 'CLINT STUDIO'? I am not too sure of the name) for a long while before he left Nigeria for U.K.

I heard enough about him in 1994 while at UNN to determine that he was of the talent and skills of Aba or even better. So as that guy, who told me that Kola was even better, insisted I confronted Aba himself to verify and ascertain whether this fact was true. Aba has never admitted or acknowledged that he has met or know any person that can play the piano like him. But on that fateful day, When I spoke about Kola to Aba, he just kept quiet for a while... that was when I suspected that there could be more to this Kola story.

Aba said "When Kola was schooling in UNN in the 1980's I was barely a six or a seven year old boy, and I was too small to know what he was doing or be of a challenge to him. It was after Kola graduated and left UNN that I matured and became good as I am today!"

So I asked him further: "Have you met with Kola recently? Does it mean you can play better than him now? Or are you acknowledging that Kola is better than you or is very good for that matter?"

Aba replied, and I observed that he chose his words very carefully, unlike him: "Yes I have met with him recently. I went to Lagos to his studio, but he was so busy that we saw only briefly. There was no time for him to listen to me play. Well I have not played against him since I matured on the piano so I cannot tell! But if you are to ask me of my own personal opinion, I will say that I am playing better now."

So from Aba's reply, and from that guy's testimony, I ascertain that Aba may have actually been inspired by Kola to become the genius he was then. Actually no prodigy is an island of his own. But there is news circulating about Aba's late father being the best piano player Nigeria has ever seen in his time... apart from the fact that he was the first music professor to bag a master and a phd degree in music in Nigeria, and the starting founders of the music department of UNN and their H.O.D of the music department of UNN till he passed away in 1984.

It must be that Kola, also, was another music genius who, according to Aba, wasn't his contemporary... 'cos Kola was way ahead of Aba in terms of age. There was a story circulating in UNN in my time about one of Kola's exploit as a musician... that apart from playing the piano so well, that he was very good on the flute too! On one fateful day, two menacing dogs decided to attack him while he was returning from lectures; he bent down and blew the flute for them to hear and those dogs, maybe due to the beauty of the sound emanating from the flute, became whimpering and tamed animals, howling and wagging their tails to the sound of the flute!

what do you feel about organising a Drummers Day In nigeria huh ? first of is kind ooo so we know who is who the best drummer in Nigeria.

THE YORUBA TALKING DRUMS

The Nigerian Talking Drum is closely tied to the Yoruba language of South Western Nigeria.

The Yoruba language is a tonal language that speaks in proverbs where a word alone will not suffice.

The Talking Drum speaks in tones that are adjusted with leather cords that run the length of the drums body.

As it is played it's tones have the ability to mimic the spoken word, hence it is actually a Talking Drum.

Several other cultures play beautiful instruments visually resembling the Talking Drum yet the range of tones is not achieved.

A master of the Nigerian Talking Drum conveys a litany through the power of it's "spoken word."

The Talking drums have an important presence in all aspects of African life, especially the Yorubas.

The drums are used at birth, in ancestor worship, rites of passage, healing, storytelling, warrior rites and initiation, at the time of death, and as an an important means of communication over long distances

Dabi,an internationally recognised percussionist ,singer, dancer,a true Griot ,born in Nigeria, West Africa, comes from a family of Master Drummers of the Yoruba tribe The Aare Ilu Household of Iseyin ,a town in Oyo State ,Nigeria .

From an early age dancing and drumming formed an intrinsic part of his life. He was raised in the Yoruba tribal culture, one that works, worships, lives and breathes to the beat of the drum, which has been primarily used to transmit traditional knowledge.

At home in Nigeria,he is known for his expertise in every genre from gangan to bata, akuba.gudugudu, Ogido, ashiko, bembe, kongaa sakara, agidigbo.

Between 1990 to 2002 Dabi has toured internationally performing in dozens of high-profile festivals and independent tours of USA,Germany,Italy,Spain,France, Canada,India,Austria Scadinavian,Japan, South Korea ,Poland,Jamaica,Holland and United Kingdom.
Apart from being steeped in Yoruba tradition as a ritual drummer, a flexible and experimental virtuoso of international calibre

":Debo Dabi Kanyinsola, a rare talent of his kind, an all -round master drummer and who is accomplished in an array of Yoruba traditions and drumming styles. He has emerged over a decade as the most revered gangan drummer in Nigeria and perhaps the most famous gangan drummer in the world."-- Africa Today"
.............................................................................................................................................

"My father (May God rest his soul) was a legendary drummer, and my grandfather too. All my ancestors, ever since we can remember . dedicated to this noble work."

Scholars have deduced that while melody and harmony are
preeminent in traditional European music (and the West
generally speaking) in African music (more so in West
Africa) rhythm is king.

The drum is the greatest purveyor
of rhythm. And rhythm is arguably the most definitive of
musical style in popular contemporary music. Although we
use the drums in our music, mostly to create grooves and
stimulate dance, in traditional Yoruba music the drum
plays more diverse roles. They do much more than stimulate
dance, especially in the sacred worship of Yoruba deities.

In my band, we use the four major families of Yoruba
drums. Each family consists of drums of different sizes
playing generally slave/master, support/lead roles. In
each instance, the mother drum (iya ilu) plays the lead
role. The four families are Dundun/Gangan, Bata, Sakara,
Ogido/Gbedu. Traditionally, each family has a complete
ensemble. Oftentimes we use different drums from different
families together, and other times, we play the drums as
complete ensembles as they are used traditionally.

Although the Yorubas utilise the flute, agidigbo and goje
just as there are lots of melodic and harmonic instruments
in other African cultures- kora, marimba, mbira, oja (ibo
flute), kalimba, etc. their music is predominantly driven
by drums and other percussion instruments. Drums, drums
and more drums.

Dundun ensemble

This is the hour glass drum commonly referred to as the talking drum. Actually, most Yoruba drums mimic speech (talk)

The iya ilu leads the whole ensemble. It leads the talk, dictates the pace, determines the song etc.
The Omele genus comprises

(i) Isaju (fixed high pitched dundun) Its pitch is fixed to a high tone by tying the tension strings.
(ii) Atele (fixed low pitched dundun) By tying its tension strings, its pitch is fixed to a lower tone than the isaju.

Each of these two drums plays a different rhythm. Their combined groove is the foundation on which the bigger mum drums build their own rhythms. The isaju literarily means 鍍he one that leads in front・while atele means 鍍he one that follows the lead・

This basic 斗eader & follower・principle is common to the other Yoruba drum ensembles used in my music. The drums may bear different names but the same roles hold for each of these families. Although some omele lead while others follow, they are still all subject to the overall leadership of the iya ilu (the mother drums)

The dundun family usually includes one gudugudu which is shaped like a bowl. It is beaten with two leather beaters while all the other drums are played with one bent wooden stick while the other hand is used directly on the drum.
A more portable version of the dundun is more popularly used in urban social music. This is called the gangan. It also has a complete family of iya ilu and omele just like the dundun family. It is common to mix drums from these two size categories. The dundun has a bigger and deeper sound than the gangan.

This basic nuclear family is usually extended by multiplying the drums and players. So an extended dundun family could include 1 gudugudu, 6 isaju, 6 atele, and 6 iya ilu. There are often many more in a large ensemble.
